100% Pure Texas Thrash. BC/AD is the final testament of the best Texas Thrash Metal band of the century. A 2 disc farewell featuring both a Live audio CD with 2 unreleased studio tracks and a live DVD from the band's final performance.
Packaging a very cool digipak design by Carcass John Fossum. Warbeast mascot Gammortis on the cover looking menacing as ever. Will definitley look great in your collection.
The audio CD showcases the band storming out the gates at their very first concert under the moniker '' Warbeast'' a mere few months after the band ceased to be the Texas Metal Alliance. Remastered by Kerry Crafton, the first 10 tracks were recorded live at the now dormant Skillman Street Pub in Dallas, Texas in June of 2009. The first incarnation of Warbeast consisted of Scott Shelby and Rick Perry on guitars, Alan Bovee on bass, Joey Gonzales on drums and the late Bruce Corbitt on vocals. This was recorded about a year before their debut studio record "Krush The Enemy'' was released. The band plays the album in it's entirety but not in the chronological order that would later be on the studio release. Listening to the band, you would never have guessed it was their first official performance. the band is firing on all cylinders. Once the band kicks in the first song '' Born of a Blackened Heart'' it sends a clear message to the masses that Thrash Metal is alive and well in the 21st century and is still a viable art form without having to rehash the sounds from the 80's. And if Bruce's in between song banter is any indication, he sounds like he's in a great mood and positively thrilled to be back on stage again. Especially in his home town. This performance was the start of a crushing journey that would give fans almost a decade of stellar live shows and 3 monstrous studio efforts.
The final 2 tracks on the CD ''Monster'' and ''Nameless'' are unreleased songs from the 2013 ''Destroy'' sessions. Unless the Warbeast camp is sitting on some more unreleased songs in their vaults, these tracks are more than likely the last time we will hear new music with Bruce Corbitt on vocals. And thats alright, these songs are superb. To my ears they sound like they would have fit in perfectly on the ''War of the Gargantuas'' split with Phillip H. Anselmo & The Illegals.

The second disc which features the live DVD is bittersweet to say the least. It's a final curtain call on the best Texas thrash metal band of the century. It was Filmed by Stagecast 360 at the historic Ridglea Theater in Fort Worth, Texas in October of 2018. This show was billed as ''The Ferocious return of Warbeast'' For one night, it certainly was. this performance features Drew Shoup on guitars, Lyric Ferchaud on bass, Joey Gonzales on drums, Scott Shelby on guitars and Bruce Corbitt on vocals. Opening the set with Krush the Enemy which was obviously and ode to the cancer Bruce was fighting and says it will certainly be crushed. The band rips through 9 songs total spanning all 3 of their studio albums. this was Bruce Corbitt's first full performance with no outside help in over 18 months. There were more planned but sadly, it wasn't to be. The band sounds tight as hell and even though Bruce was very sick during this performance, you couldn't tell as he gave it his all one last time. In watching this, you can clearly see how much of a fighter the man was and how determined he was to beat the cancer. You can also see him and the band having the time of their lives by the smiles on their faces. This is a solid Metal performance. Highlights are Hitchhiker, Nightmares In The Sky, Maze of the Minotaur and Birth of a Psycho. Warbeast had a rich history with the Ridglea Theater so it was very fitting that the band ended it there.

This anthology is a fantastic collector's item and a wonderful send off to one of the greatest voices in the history of Thrash Metal. Rest In Beast Bruce Corbitt. Thank you for all the music you left behind. On a personal note, I wish the remaining members nothing but happiness and success in their future projects and endeavors. We all can hope they either regroup in another name or move on to other bands and still make music. Warbeast BC/AD is a MUST HAVE for not just fans of the band but all Metal fans in general. BUY IT!!!
Warbeast as an entity may be over but the pulverizing metal they left behind in their attack will live on forever. YOU KNOW DAMN WELL!!!!
