How the hell are you?
I'm fantastic! Couldn't be better! It's great. Beautiful girls and the crowd was great. Seeing old friends, getting drunk... partying!
What's your relationship with Mothership?
We've only hung a few times but its been great. They just want to play rock and roll and are good dudes. We just like meeting people, we get along with everyone, unless you're a dick, then you can go fuck yourself!
You've had a busy few years, what's driven that?
We've had opportunities! We've been touring Europe and the shows are packed almost every night. I love every bit of it, from setting up the merch to setting up the amps to meeting the people.
What draws you to it?
I grew up wanting to do this. I used to run around with a tennis racket playing along to my favorite artists. My mom always said I would be a musician, she just saw it.
Sasquatch is the type of band who is pretty damn popular in Europe but has had a hard time in America...
I think any good rock band has had a hard time in America unless you're like Nickelback. I don't like those bands but good for them! I don't want to knock Americans, but it just seems like... I don't want to insult anybody but they are complacent. You get a lot of frat guys and beer drinking guys who don't search for it. In Europe if people see a band from America is coming they will just come out because they are excited to have a band. The enthusiasm over there is insane. Then we come to America playing our hometown and getting 100 people to the show is a nightmare. But we don't care. We go where people want us to play! If they don't want us here fuck them!

What do opportunities like Psycho or Ozzfest mean for you?
I grew up on Ozzy. Randy Rhodes is one of my biggest heroes in the world. I've always been tied to his work. It's flattering. I feel like we are finally getting something out of what we've been doing. We are a band who never give up. If people don't like us we don't care we will keep playing. I feel like that opportunity has a lot to do with the new record. It's just flattering. Everything we get we are so thankful for.
What draws people to Sasquatch?
We write songs! It's easy for people to like us. It comes very naturally. It's not forced. Cas our bass player listens to everything. I grew up on the Beatles and the Stones and Sabbath. I just like songs. I like disco, I like really shitty pop. A good song is a good song it doesn't matter. Even if it's a band I can't stand a good song is a good song.
One of my moms favorite songs is The Message, but she's not in your demographic at all...
Tell her I said thank you! I don't want to say what that songs about... not my last girl, but maybe a few before. Women are muses. Most of the great songs are about women, whether they are great to you or terrible to you. Something about them inspires you.
Why do you think that is?
They are the most beautiful creatures on earth. You just look at a woman and you get inspired, whether you get inspired to write a song or paint a picture... all the greatest art in the world comes from that.
How do your Philadelphia origins impact you music?
I don't know if I can answer that one. When I grew up Philly was a tough no bullshit town. I grew up that way. Since I moved to LA I got a lot more mellow. I'm from that area and it will always be an influence.
What attracts you to LA?
The weather. I can't stand the people except my friends. LA sucks balls. The weather is awesome though. I can go to the beach 285 days out of the year. I'm a beach guy. I love surfing. I go to Malibu with a six pack and stare at the waves. It's tough to live there, the people are mostly idiots. They are so self absorbed especially in Hollywood. People stand in line talking loudly about their lives trying to make you think they have something going on. The people who DO have something going on don't do that. It's beautiful though, palm trees and mountains man.
Because you're someone who has done something as such, do you have sycophants in LA?
No because nobody in LA cares about anything except themselves. It's not everyone there – I have friends who are not like that. But the people you meet... it's crazy. They always want to talk about themselves. I don't know if I care about your little part in a stupid movie. That's great, but don't turn stuff around towards you. Everyone is trying to be friends with you because they want to see what they can get out of you.
What do you love so much about music?
I don't know. Playing with a band is the best. Especially the band right now. We are like a machine, like brothers. We're on the road and have laughs and have a great time. The camaraderie is great. It's like family even though we aren't related. You can't explain it. It's hard for a band to find that type of thing.
